Waikiki Woos Couples Seeking Romance

Waikiki Woos Couples Seeking Romance

Partner Content

A moonlight stroll on Waikiki Beach, framed by sparkling city lights and the shadowy rise of Diamond Head, is an ideal setting for romance. To kindle old or new flames even further, couples can take advantage of amenities offered throughout the day by the two Outrigger beachfront resorts in Waikiki.

The romance starts by booking one of the sumptuous oceanfront suites with access to the Voyager 47 Club Lounge at either the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort or Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Providing dazzling views of the beach and Diamond Head, these private lounges serve Hawaiian-style breakfast with Kona coffee — a perfect time for planning your day’s excursions — and sunset drinks and pupu (appetizers) to unwind afterward.

For those who’ve had a particularly active day, perhaps learning to surf or paddling an outrigger canoe with Faith Surf School at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach, or hiking Diamond Head (by advance reservation), the Infinity Spa on the top two floors of the Outrigger Waikiki Beach is another lovely place to unwind. Book a traditional lomi lomi massage in the ocean-view couples’ massage room and don’t forget to ask for the hot stone and coconut oil add-ons for further indulgence.

After sunset cocktails, consider dinner and a show at Blue Note Hawaii. The upscale nightclub inside Outrigger Waikiki presents celebrated performers of jazz, pop and Hawaiian music and comedy in a setting with pristine acoustics and a tasty cocktail and dinner menu. Plan to take that moonlight stroll afterward.

Don’t stay out too late if you’re planning to take part in one of Outrigger’s free vow renewal ceremonies that takes place four mornings a week. Guests need to reserve a spot in advance for the popular ceremonies, held Tuesdays and Fridays on the beach in front of the Outrigger Reef, and Mondays and Thursdays on the beachfront pool deck at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach. The popular ceremony incorporates Polynesian and Hawaiian traditions, including ukulele music and hula.

If you plan your romantic itinerary right, you’ll gain a new appreciation for the lyrics of the classic song “Waikiki”:

Your tropic nights and your wonderful charms

Are ever in my memory

And I recall when I held in my arms

An angel sweet and heavenly Waikiki

My whole life is empty without you

I miss that magic about you

Magic beside the sea

Magic of Waikiki.
