Wākea Waikīkī Beach
A tall modern building with numerous windows rises against a clear blue sky, surrounded by lush palm trees and greenery. Smaller buildings are visible in the background, and a park with grass and trees occupies the foreground—one of the best hotels on Oahu illuminated by natural beauty.

Wākea Waikīkī Beach

Opened in 2009 and nicknamed Trump Waikiki, this 38-story tower hosts 462 guest rooms and residential suites owned by private investors but managed like any other luxury hotel. Overlooking the green oasis of  Fort DeRussy, the hotel is a short walk from Waikiki Beach and numerous shops, restaurants and bars, but many guests choose to linger on the infinity pool deck or admire the views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head from the floor-to-ceiling windows in their lodgings. Two restaurants, a spa and 24-hour fitness center also encourage cocooning. As of February 2024, the hotel will give up the Trump name and management company to become Wakea Waikiki Beach and part of Hilton’s luxury LXR Hotels & Resorts brand. The dedicated staff who helped the resort win numerous awards over the years will stay on, with room interiors and restaurant concepts to be updated in 2025.
