Make Music Hawaii, the official Hawaii chapter of Make Music Day, is delighted to announce the involvement of renowned musician Henry Kapono in commemorating this extraordinary day in Hawaii. With Grammy nominations and 21 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards under his belt, Henry Kapono’s presence adds an exceptional touch to the festivities.

Make Music Day exemplifies the transformative influence of music through an array of outdoor concerts, performances, jam sessions, and other musical encounters taking place on streets, sidewalks, parks, and public spaces across over 1,000 cities worldwide. Make Music Hawaii envisions uplifting Hawaiian musicians by fostering community events and programs throughout the islands, inviting individuals from all walks of life to engage and share their unique musical expressions. Embracing a diverse range of music, people, and locations, Make Music Hawaii embodies inclusivity and celebration.
Experience the magic of Make Music Day with free live performances happening across various locations in Hawaii. On Oahu, find the musical festivities in downtown Honolulu, Ala Moana, Kakaako, Kaimuki, Pearl City, and Waikiki. On Kauai, enjoy the vibrant sounds in Lihue and Koloa, while on Maui, festivities are in Kahului, Wailea, and Pukalani. Molokai welcomes you to Kaunakakai, Lanai invites you to Lanai City, and on Hawaii Island, the beats resonate in Kailua-Kona and Hilo. Additionally, live-streamed performances will be available statewide, bringing the joy of music to everyone’s screens.
The Henry Kapono Foundation (HKF), known for delivering captivating live music experiences and creating meaningful work opportunities through its “Mele” and “On the Rise” Work Programs, proudly joins forces with Make Music Hawaii. Together, they collaborate to support Make Music Day’s outreach events by providing talented musicians, top-notch sound equipment, and outstanding concert production.
