The middle of winter is upon us and there’s no better way to get into the season’s spirit than with this month’s plethora of snow-centric events. Not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered.  Take advantage of all the Tahoe/Truckee area has to offer with exciting and eclectic events this month, including a World Cup event, Valentine’s Day celebrations, live music, a torchlight parade, a scenic gondola ride and more. February is a popular month in Tahoe, with an average of 72 inches of snowfall. Temperatures at night tend to be in the low 20s while during the day they’re in the 40s.

North Lake Tahoe

Ullr Fest

Check out this lively parade and community party that raises funds for the Diamond Peak ski team. The festival is named after the Scandinavian god of winter and snow who’s widely regarded as the patron saint of skiers. In its 13th year, the event features a torchlight parade, bonfire, music, raffles, food, drinks and more. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best Ullr attire. Admission and parking are free. Food, drinks, raffles and merchandise available for purchase.

Road to Wondergrass

This music series features the Kitchen Dwellers with Lindsay Lou this month. Come get your groove on when the Bozeman, Montana quartet brings their lively mix of bluegrass, folk, and rock to the Crystal Bay Club Crown Room.

A snow-covered downhill ski race course with red barriers and flags is lined with spectators. Several skiers are on the course, and a large red arch with sponsor logos marks the starting gate. Pine trees and a ski lift are visible on the side—definitely one of the best things to do Tahoe February.

Palisades Tahoe Audi FIS Ski World Cup Tour

Home to the 1960s winter Olympics, Palisades Tahoe will once again welcome World Cup racers to its legendary steeps. One of only four U.S. resorts featured on the Audi FIS Ski World Cup circuit this season, Palisades will host men’s slalom and giant slalom events on Dog Leg and Red Dog Face. Come check out the course and all the action from the base area. Cheer on the world’s best athletes, catch outdoor concerts, see fireworks and more.

South Lake Tahoe

Scenic gondola ride

Every day

Even if you don’t ski or ride, you can still experience one of the best views of Lake Tahoe with a nearly 2.5-mile scenic gondola ride up Heavenly Mountain Resort. Stop at the Observation Deck for panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. Perfect for a Valentine’s Day date.

Date Night in the Village

February 14

Love is in the air this month, and Heavenly Village is a great place to celebrate. The Shops at Heavenly host Date Night in the Village, featuring live music, red roses for purchase, a photo booth, and, of course, various delectable restaurants to choose from.

Truckee

Lincoln pop-up bar

Soak in the sunshine and get your groove on with an on-snow DJ  at Sugar Bowl’s pop-up bar at the top of Lincoln. Enjoy drink specials, lawn games and sun chairs from 11:30am to 2pm.

Rockstar Women-Only Weekend

Grab your girlfriends for this terrain park learning experience, aimed to help women feel more comfortable in the park and take their skills to the next level. The event is open to intermediate skiers and riders looking to enhance their skills in a supportive and inspiring setting with Northstar’s top instructors. Pre-registration required.
