This oceanfront property is located on 22 acres of the Kona Coast on Hawaiʻi’s Big Island, just south of the town of Kona. The resort is situated on an ancient lava flow on Keauhou Bay. Built in the early 1970s as Kona Surf, the resort has gone through a few major renovations and was rebranded as the Outrigger Kona in 2020. Adjacent to the hotel and accessible via the trolley is the Kona Country Club Golf Course with two 18-hole courses. Within walking distance (approximately 5 minutes) of the entrance of the Outrigger Keauhou Bay is Keauhou Bay Marina packed with a variety of ocean-related activities including kayak excursions, deep sea fishing, snorkel and dive boats. There are two tennis courts, a basketball court and a sand volleyball court on site as well as shoreline sightings of manta rays — six evening per week (except Sundays) — and a complimentary Manta Talk that’s held just after sunset near the manta viewing area.
