What to do on Maui When it Rains

Maui is a beautiful island with plenty of outdoor activities, but if it happens to rain during your visit, don’t worry – there are still plenty of things to do. Here are some ideas:

Visit a Museum

Maui has several museums that showcase the island’s history and culture, including the Hale Ho‘ike‘ike Museum and the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum in Wailuku, and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului.

Go to a Spa

Maui is known for its luxurious spas and wellness centers, where you can indulge in a massage, facial, or other treatments. Check out some of our favorite spas here.

Take a Cooking Class

Learn to make some of Maui’s delicious cuisine at one of the island’s cooking classes, such as Coconut Farm and Cooking School in Haiku.

Go Shopping

Maui has several shopping centers, malls, and markets where you can shop for souvenirs, clothing, and other items. Some popular options include the Lahaina Cannery Mall and the Outlets of Maui in Lahaina, Whalers Village in Kaanapali, and the Maui Mall Village in Kahului and the Shops at Wailea in Wailea

Visit an Art Gallery

Maui has a vibrant art scene, and there are numerous art galleries where you can view and purchase works by local artists. Some of our favorites are Maui Crafts Guild and Maui Hands in Paia, and the Lahaina Arts Society in Lahaina.

Go to a Movie

Maui has three movie theaters on island, Regency Wharf Cinemas in Lahaina, Regency Kihei Cinemas in Kihei, and The Regal Maui Mall in Kahului, where you can catch the latest releases or classic films.

Play Indoor Games

There are several indoor entertainment options in Maui, such as the Wailuku Lanes in Wailuku or the Maui Escape Rooms in Kaanapali.

Take a Yoga Class

Maui has several yoga studios where you can take a class and relax your body and mind. Some studios to check out are Maha Yoga in Paia, Afterglow Yoga in Wailuku, and Body in Balance in Lahaina.

Explore Hawaii’s Marine Life

Hawaii is known for it’s diverse and exciting marine life. Explore what lives under the sea at the the Maui Ocean Center in Wailuku and the Hawaii Wildlife Discovery Center in Kaanapali.

Go Wine Tasting

Maui has one winery that offers tastings and tours. Check out Maui Wine vineyard in Ulupalakua.
