Top Surf/SUP Lessons on the Big Island

Surfing is one of Hawaii’s most popular activities, so why not learn to “hang ten” where the sport was born? The beaches around Kailua-Kona have mellow waters so make for an ideal place for both beginning and intermediate surfers.

Learn How to Surf — Kona Private 2 Hour Surfing Lessons

Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors Headquarters

In Kona, learn to surf with the experts of Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors. Safety is always a number one priority for this family-owned school, but they make learning fun too. There are options for child private lessons (ages 3-10), adult private lessons (ages 11 and up), and semi-private lessons for two (ages 11 and up).

Surfing is not the only watersport in Hawai’i — stand up paddleboarding (SUP) has become increasingly popular and is another fun way to enjoy the ocean. SUP can be a relaxing activity, but can also offer the benefit of core strengthening and a cardio workout.
