It’s the last official full month of summer, and there’s no better place to take advantage than in Tahoe/Truckee. This month, the area welcomes the most beautiful wooden boats to Lake Tahoe in an elegant and upscale boat show. Music and drink fests abound, there’s a Bloody Mary competition with the area’s famed local vodka, and a three-day music series every weekend this month. So head up to the mountains this August to catch all the fun!

North Lake Tahoe

This spectacularly stunning wooden boat show returns to the west shore of Lake Tahoe for its 50th year with some of the most well-preserved and restored wooden boats in the world. The event features luxury shopping, live jazz music, gourmet cuisine, a fully stocked bar and a silent auction.

Get your groove on while tasting a variety of local and regional beers at this drink and music fest in The Village at Palisades Tahoe. Over 10 breweries, like FiftyFifty, Alibi and Moonraker, will be offering tastings throughout the village. Bands, including ALO, Monophonics & Sal’s Greenhouse, will perform on two stages.

Palisades Tahoe puts on this grand music fest in Olympic Valley for all things reggae. 2024’s lineup included artists like Shaggy and Rebelution.

7th Annual Tahoe Brewfest

Eat and drink your way through this brewfest that features more than 30 breweries, food trucks and live music along Ski Run Boulevard in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. Regional craft beers will be flowing from breweries like South Lake Brewing Co. Jackrabbit Brewing Company and Anderson Valley Brewing Company. There will be a different genre of music on every block from Lake Tahoe DJ and Ascent DJ Productions, so there’ll always be something to dance to.

Truckee

Truckee BrewFest

Grab a pint at this local beer fest, featuring tastings of more than 30 specialty brews, craft beers, local microbrewers and select ciders, all from around the region. There will be live music by Down the Rabbit Hole, food and a silent auction held at Truckee Regional Park. Participating breweries include Truckee River Brewing, Deschutes Brewing, Fifty Fifty, Alibi Ale Works, Firestone Walker and more.

Northstar Summer Music Series

Friday-Sundays

Post-mountain biking, beaching, hiking, golfing, swimming — or anything in between, wind down with live music at The Village at Northstar every weekend this month. DJs take the stage Fridays from 5–8 pm. and bands play Saturdays and Sundays from 3–6 pm.
