July 4

What’s said to be the oldest running 10K footrace in California is celebrating 51 years. There’s also a popular 3K offering.

July 4

The parade kicks off at 10am. After watching it make its way around Sonoma’s historic Plaza, stick around for a festival with food, drink and game booths. Proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations.

July 4

Keep the red, white and blue going at this extravagant fireworks display from Sonoma State’s Green Music Center. Not just an event for the eyes, this “spectacular” also includes performances by the Santa Rosa Symphony and the Transcendence Theatre Company. Bring the kids along too! A kids zone with carnival games and bounce houses opens up at 4:30 p.m.

You have to roll out of bed early, but one glimpse at the sky filled with colorful balloons and you’ll be thrilled you set your alarm. Along with tethered balloon rides, there will be food booths, crafts and kids play areas.

Celebrate Petaluma Music Festival’s 17th year on July 17 with performances from The Greyboy Allstars, ALO and Monophonics. Even better? Proceeds from the event are distributed throughout Petaluma’s public elementary and secondary schools to help fund their music programs.

The popular music and arts festival on the banks of the Petaluma River is back. The weekend of festivities benefits the nonprofit Friends of the Petaluma River organization.

With the long days and warm weather ahead, take the opportunity to bring your screen time outside and enjoy free Monday movie nights in downtown Santa Rosa. Grab a picnic blanket, some friends or the kids and enjoy prepackaged movie treats, food trucks and alcoholic beverages from local vendors at Old Courthouse Square. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday night.

This festival brings together talented singer-songwriters and delicious food and drink from some of Sonoma’s best wineries. SIP is short for “Songwriters in Paradise,” but you’ll also be “sipping” from complimentary pours of wine at the performances. These four days of intimate shows will make you feel like you’ve got a backstage pass to some of the best musicians around.

Spend a fun summer evening in Healdsburg enjoying great wine, delicious food and live music.
